IDAHO FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES (IFCS)


The Idaho Family and Consumer Sciences Educator Association, Inc. (IFCS) promotes and provides opportunities for continual personal and professional development so that educators can prepare individuals for life and work, strengthen families, and support communities. 

Objectives

The objectives of IFCS are to:

  • Advance professional growth by supporting pre-service and in-service development opportunities for Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) educators.
  • Develop leadership and strengthen professionalism through networking, program improvement,  and policy advocacy.
  • Engage with policymakers and education partners to advocate for and strengthen FCS and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs statewide.
  • Foster collaboration among FCS educators through the exchange of ideas, resources, and best practices to strengthen Idaho FCS programs.
  • Integrate workplace readiness and life skills through FCS cluster programs and industry-aligned pathways.
  • Promote understanding of the value and impact of FCS programs within schools, families, workplaces, and communities.
  • Provide a platform for collective voice and professional dialogue on key issues impacting FCS education.

Membership

Click here to affiliate with IFCS! Dues are $20 annually (July 1 - June 30). Membership in IFCS is open to individuals who teach, have taught, are preparing to teach, or otherwise support FCS education in Idaho. Members share a commitment to strengthening families, preparing individuals for life and work, and advancing FCS education across the state. Membership questions can be directed to Amber Harris, Treasurer/Membership.
